Cadence FAQ

Q. What devices is Cadence compatible with?
A. Cadence is compatible with the following Apple devices:

iPad 2 onwards; running iOS 6.0 and above
iPhone 3GS onwards; running iOS 6.0 and above
iPod Touch 4th generation and above

It is also compatible with most AndroidTM devices.

Q. Where can I download it, and what does it cost?
A. Cadence for Apple is available for download on the App Store, free of charge. Simply search for ‘Cyrus Cadence’, or click here. Cadence for Android™ is available for download from the Google Play™ Store, click here to download it. Cadence is free to download and use.

Q. Does my Cyrus product need a firmware upgrade?
A. Version 1 streamers (Stream X, Stream XP, and Streamline) require a hardware upgrade to version 2 specification at the Cyrus factory. This adds a number of features alongside Cadence compatibility. If you have a version 2 Cyrus streamer, the latest firmware version will allow you to access the full feature set of both the Apple and Android app. Check and update your firmware here.

If you have a Lyric Series product, you will need the latest firmware version to access the full feature set of the app. To check and update your firmware, click here.

Q. My app is not working correctly – what’s wrong?
A. Problems with input selection, favourites lists and general Lyric control can be caused by the firmware on your Cyrus unit being outdated.

To check and update your firmware please select the relevant option below:

Firmware updates for Cyrus streaming music players
Firmware updates for Lyric Series products

Q. Can I control more than one unit on my network?
A. Yes, you can select which networked unit you wish to control and even rename each unit through the settings menu for easy identification.

Q. Why is the album artwork low quality?
A. The album artwork displayed depends on the actual resolution of the .jpg file embedded in the track or album folder. You can check the resolution from the ‘Now Playing’ screen by swiping right or tapping the album artwork.

Please consult your NAS drive supplier for further support on how to resolve this. We have also included an option to rescale the album artwork to either show in its native resolution or resize to a larger size; you can find this in the option menu of Cadence under ‘Scale Album Arts’.

Q. Why does the volume not appear to be working whilst controlling the Stream X₂, Stream X Signature or Stream Xa?
A. The Stream X₂, Stream X Signature and Stream Xa do not feature a volume control so this function is disabled whilst controlling these units from Cadence.

Q. How do I switch between n-remote and Cadence?
A. Cyrus products can only be controlled by one thing at a time. Therefore the n-remote should be left to "switch-off" in order for the app to connect, and the app should be closed before switching back to the n-remote. The n-remote can also be disconnected by pressing the "toolkit" key. Watch this video for help pairing and unpairing your n-remote.

Q. Why can't I associate my TuneIn account with my streamer?
A. This function is no longer supported by Cyrus streamers. Please see here for details.
